Placing the large Trees

Only just managed to get this video up on the blog - but thought you would like to see it anyway. This is back to Saturday morning - the arrival of the big trees on site. These are from our Broadmead Nursery where we grow trees in containers from 45litre (that's 3 times the size of your average garden centre tree) up to 2000 litres - that's a tree! On the exhibit we use tress up to 1000 litres. The large Acer platanoides 'Emerald Queen' is in a 1,000 litre container. a tree of this size is quite a challenge to handle at the show. The forklift can move the rootball - but the top of the tree weighs as much!

The Two cut leaved Beech that flank the Golden Cypress sculpture are in 600 litre containers - these will need moving slightly and that will be a manpower job on Wednesday. - Something for the team to look forward to!
